Talkin' To You
©2009 Paul Dewitt
Hey I'm talkin' to you. Hey there's something to do??
Wake up and listen to the sound of people all around who could use you're help
You say there's nothing you can do but the monies a shoe box under your bed.
It's not the money that we wanted you to spend. Could be your company could be enough to lend
Just say hello and maybe make another friend. Don't shut them out cause you could end up just like them.
(CHORUS)
Hey I'm talkin' to you. Hey there's something to do.
Hey I'm talkin' to you. Hey there's something to do.
See them in tattered clothes and lost but looking for the cause that has made them so poor.
Dirty but clinging to the past. They thought that it would last now their dignities gone
I know it's hard for you to put some time aside. To let em know that everything will be alright.
Just give em a bible with a ten-spot hid inside. A spark of hope that they will make it through the night.
(CHORUS)
Go out and find a lonely soul someone you want to show that you do give a dam.
Risk it by walking up to them. Please try not to condemn them for where they are at.
When you approach them try not to be so afraid. They are not dumb so do not think what will yo say.
Or they will see right through your patronizing ways. You're only worth just what you do not what you say.
(CHORUS)
